I have been working as a freelance
writer since 1997, and have contributed on a semi-regular basis to the Denver
Post and Mix ever since. I currently contribute as a writer, editor and photographer to US College Hockey Online. My work has also appeared in Acoustic Guitar, Climbing,
Fiddler, Onstage, Rock and Ice, and Strings. I have also contributed to a
variety of smaller publications and websites, and in 2000 published a regular
column on music at the now-defunct MusicBadger.com. In addition to my work as a
writer, I was the editor of the
American Alpine News
from 2002-2005 and the managing editor of Annuity Super Producer, a
web-based magazine dedicated to the annuities and insurance industry, in 2006
before it folded. I was born and raised in New Rochelle, N.Y., and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts in History and English, surviving the double major through virtue of my skills writing papers. After getting my degree, I moved to New York City and bounced around several entry-level jobs in non-profit organizations, gaining valuable experience working on environmental issues, inner city issues and adult literacy. I currently live in Denver. In addition to climbing and telemark skiing, I love to play tennis and hockey, and occasionally noodle around on my guitar or fiddle. I still love going to concerts, am a dedicated movie fan, love to read, and generally keep busy with as much as I can.
